With her uplifting personality, Dr Anske has been a valuable addition since joining forces with Cormed Doctors in 2023 by moving her well-loved Vaalpark practice over to our Cormed Family. She studied at Free State University and did her Zuma Year (Community Service) at 1 Military Hospital as a “civvy” in the army. During her first week at 1 Mil, she was sent on detached duty to Louis Trichard Air Force Base and sent out on casevacs in Oryx helicopters to airlift patients in the then flood-stricken Mozambique. This experience sparked an interest in flight medicine, and after some years at 1 Mil, she became an air ambulance doctor in Sub-Sahara Africa with International SOS for half a decade. Anske worked as a general practitioner in Centurion and Bothaville before starting her own practice in Vaalpark, where she has been working for the last 12 years.

Anske loves interacting with her patients and finds lab results more fascinating than Die Huisgenoot, especially if analyzing the results might possibly prevent unnecessary future suffering through the Grace from Above. Her husband, Nico, is the person she admires the most, and they got married on 31 December 1999, 24 years ago. Anske enjoys spending time with their three daughters and feels extremely flattered if they actually choose to wear the fancy dresses she makes them for school plays and projects. Her favorite holiday is a road trip through the Cape, visiting family and friends.
When it comes to beverages, Anske can’t go without her coffee to wake up in the morning. She enjoys tea (Five Roses) by the teapot full and recommends water for healthy living.
